Cargo we move

Different cargo needs different equipment, documents and handling. Find yours below, see what we need to know about it, and go straight to the services that fit.

Packed general cargo

Goods in cartons, cases, crates, drums, bags or on pallets: manufactured goods, consumer products, parts and materials.

What we need to know

  • Number of packages and the size and weight of each
  • Whether pallets can be stacked
  • Total weight and volume

Dry bulk

Large quantities of one loose cargo carried unpacked in a ship's hold or on a barge, such as minerals and ores or agricultural commodities.

What we need to know

  • Cargo type and quantity in tonnes
  • Loading and discharge places
  • Laycan (the dates the vessel may arrive to load)
  • Any cargo test reports

Heavy, oversized and project cargo

Machinery, steel, industrial parts and equipment too large or too heavy for a standard container, and planned movements for industrial and energy sites.

What we need to know

  • Exact length, width, height and weight of each piece
  • Drawings with lifting points and centre of gravity
  • Site access and the schedule you are working to

Temperature-controlled cargo

Chilled and frozen food, fresh produce, medicines and any cargo with a temperature limit.

What we need to know

  • The required temperature range
  • Whether the cargo is chilled or frozen
  • Packaging and any ventilation needs

Dangerous goods

Cargo that can harm people, vessels or the environment, such as some chemicals, gases, batteries and flammable liquids. It moves only with carriers and specialists who accept its class, under the rules for each mode (the IMDG Code at sea).

What we need to know

  • UN number and class
  • Safety data sheet (SDS)
  • Packaging and quantity per package

Time-critical and high-value cargo

Spare parts, samples, documents of value and shipments where the date matters more than the cost.

What we need to know

  • The date it is ready and the date it is needed
  • Size and weight of each package
  • Declared value, if insurance is wanted
