Project and heavy cargo

Some cargo is too large, too heavy or too awkward for a standard container. Moving it takes planning before anything is booked. We lay out the route, the equipment and the permits to ask about, and bring in specialists where the work needs them.

Breakbulk

Breakbulk is cargo shipped piece by piece, not in a container, such as steel items, machinery parts or large crates.

When to use it

When the pieces are too long, wide or heavy for a container but can be lifted onto a ship by normal means.

What we handle

  • Booking space on suitable vessels
  • Coordinating delivery to the port and loading
  • Lashing and securing instructions with the carrier
  • Cargo documents
  • Coordinating discharge and onward delivery

What to send us for a quote

A packing list with the size and weight of each piece, drawings or photos, origin, destination, ready date, and any lifting points marked on the cargo.

Out-of-gauge and heavy-lift cargo

Out-of-gauge cargo is too big for a standard container. Heavy-lift cargo is a single piece so heavy it needs special cranes.

When to use it

For oversized machinery, large industrial parts, or any single piece that exceeds normal size or weight limits.

What we handle

  • Finding vessels and equipment that accept the dimensions
  • Coordinating cranes, trailers and handling at each stop
  • Asking about permits and escorts for road movements
  • Coordinating specialists where the lift or the route needs them

What to send us for a quote

Exact length, width, height and weight of each piece, drawings with the centre of gravity and lifting points, origin, destination, and site access details.

Project logistics planning and route surveys

Project logistics means planning many movements for one industrial or energy site, so equipment arrives in the right order.

When to use it

When a plant, site or installation needs cargo from several origins to arrive in a planned sequence.

What we handle

  • A written movement plan covering sea, road and handovers
  • Sequencing shipments against your site schedule
  • Route surveys of roads, bridges and ports, carried out by specialists
  • Coordinating the parties on each movement

What to send us for a quote

A cargo list with sizes and weights, site location and access, the schedule you are working to, origins, and any drawings or specifications.
